Kabir Jivraj is a Partner of Noverra Active Equity Fund and brings more than 25 years of experience as Senior Executive, Board Member, Principal Investor and Business Builder to the firm. His experience spans a broad range of industries including: Healthcare, real-estate development, technology, education, seniors housing and care management; in both the private and public markets. Kabir has been an active investor and business builder in Western Canada for over 2 decades; and has led business acquisitions, growth and divestitures totaling hundreds of millions of dollars.
Currently Kabir serves as Managing Director of Age Care, which has grown from start-up to one of Western Canada’s leading, privately owned, seniors housing groups over the past 15 years. Previously, he was a founding principal investor and Board Member in Eluminate Inc., a leading education technology company sold to Blackboard Inc (Nasdaq: BBBB) in 2010. In addition, he has been a principal investor and board member of companies in the health & wellness, technology, real-estate and hospitality industries. Kabir served as a Board of Trustees Member for the Northern Property REIT (TSX: NPR.UN-T) from 2006 to 2011.
In addition, Kabir has played a leadership and governance role in a number of prominent community organizations. He is currently a member of the Board of Governors of the University of Calgary. He has previously sat as Chair of the Board of the United Way of Calgary, Honorary Treasurer of the Canadian Medical Association, President of the Alberta Medical Association, Vice-Dean of the University of Calgary, Faculty of Medicine and served as the Sen. VP and Chief Medical Officer of the Calgary Health Region Kabir has been honored with a number of prestigious awards and recognitions for his professional accomplishments and community leadership.
